There are some beautiful walks around Whitley Bay and Tynemouth including the lovely walk along the seafront with views of the sandy beaches. The local metro stops in Whitley Bay and is great if you want to visit Newcastle upon Tyne or even Tynemouth if you don't want to walk or drive. Whitley Bay has a playhouse with shows every week, Waves Swimming Pool, mini golf, plenty of ice cream and fish and chips, as well as fine dining and locally sourced food. Bay View is ideally located to travel all the county. Head north to the Heritage Coast up to Alnwick with the famous castle featured in Harry Potter, or west to Corbridge, an old Roman town near Hadrian's Wall.
